All systems of yoga work towards the same end and each system has its own specific emphasis. Almost every school of yoga tends to be a ‘closed’ system in that the teaching follows a certain progression within that style and therefore cannot be mixed with another style of teaching. However, different practices can complement each other.
The word ‘yoga’ has many definitions, all of which convey the essence of your practice. For example, it means: yoke, union, joining, an alchemical process, suspension of mental activity in order to connect with the heart.
In view of the above definitions, yoga practice is a transformative practice through which physical tensions and mental negativity are released and replaced with balance. The physical and the mental go hand in hand. Balance brings about harmony and harmony brings about well-being.
